The City of Pleasanton is accepting applications from community groups, marching bands, local businesses, and volunteers for the annual Hometown Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Pleasanton.

Following the procession down Main Street, the evening concludes with the lighting of the holiday tree in front of the Museum on Main, the city said in an announcement Monday.

"The Hometown Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting bring a special kind of joy to Downtown Pleasanton each year," Recreation Supervisor Tracy Newman said in the city's announcement. "We encourage local groups, businesses, and neighbors to get involved—whether by walking in the parade, volunteering behind the scenes, or simply coming out to cheer and celebrate together."

Entry Fees, Deadlines, and Volunteer Roles

Parade registration fees range from $60 to $100 depending on the entry category. All participant applications must be submitted by Sunday, Nov. 22, 2026, and entry fees are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, 2026.

Residents can apply to march or volunteer by visiting PleasantonFun.com and searching for "Holiday," or through the City of Pleasanton.

New Video Auditions for Parade Announcers

New for the 2026 parade, the city is holding an open call for parade announcers. Community members ages 16 and older can audition by submitting a one-minute video demonstrating voice clarity, enthusiasm, and personality before the Sunday, Nov. 22 deadline.

Questions regarding parade entries, announcer auditions, or volunteer shifts can be directed to parades@cityofpleasantonca.gov or (925) 931-5352.
