Rigatoni's is gone from Dublin; Castro Valley is its last restaurant
The company's website now lists one Rigatoni's. Its sister Strizzi's restaurants remain in Pleasanton, Livermore and Fremont.
Rigatoni's no longer operates in Dublin. The company's website now lists a single Rigatoni's, in Castro Valley, and the Dublin restaurant at 7350 Dublin Blvd. is gone from the list.
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce directory still carries the restaurant at that address, with the Dublin phone number, (925) 875-1500, and a link to the company site.
The remaining Rigatoni's is at 20680 Rustic Dr. in Castro Valley, open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It takes dine-in, takeout and catering orders, including party pans.
The family's other restaurants are closer to home. Strizzi's lists three: downtown Pleasanton at 649 Main St., downtown Livermore at 2205 First St., and Fremont at 2740 Mowry Ave. Both names belong to the same family and the two menus overlap, which is the practical answer for a Dublin regular looking for the same plate.
The family line runs back further than either sign. Luciano and Assunta Strizzi came from Villa Santa Maria, in the Abruzzo region of Italy, and opened an Italian deli in the United States in the 1920s. The restaurants describe themselves as three generations on from that deli.
What the company has not done is post anything about Dublin. Neither the Rigatoni's site nor the Strizzi's site carries a closing notice, a final date or an explanation, and neither says what becomes of the Dublin Boulevard building.
