Lyle Lovett headlines the Bankhead's opening night fundraiser Saturday

Lyle Lovett plays the Bankhead Theater on Saturday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m., opening Livermore Valley Arts’ 2026-27 season with the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year.

The evening is billed as Opening Night at the Bankhead, a new annual event for the nonprofit. Tickets are $295 for general admission and $750 for VIP, and every ticket includes a welcome glass of bubbly and hors d’oeuvres. Alongside the performance, the program includes a live auction, a raffle and a Fund-a-Need appeal for the organization’s arts education outreach.

After the show, the night moves outside to the Bankhead plaza for a live band, tapas-style bites and desserts, and a no-host bar.

The money stays with the two buildings Livermore Valley Arts runs. Proceeds support the Bankhead, in downtown Livermore, and the Bothwell Arts Center at 2466 Eighth Street, an arts incubator that rents studio, classroom, rehearsal and event space. The rest goes to the nonprofit’s educational and cultural arts outreach.

Lovett is a four-time Grammy winner with 14 albums since his self-titled 1986 debut, working across country, swing, folk and jazz. The Americana Music Association gave him its first Trailblazer Award.

The fundraiser opens what Livermore Valley Arts calls its 20th anniversary season of programming.

Sponsors named for the evening include Jean King, Denise Watkins, Jean Shuler, Visit Tri-Valley, Griffo Distillery and On the Vine Catering.

Tickets are sold through LivermoreArts.org, which also lists dates, times and prices for the rest of the season.
