Livermore posts the Community Service Day schedule: breakfast at 8, work at 9

The city of Livermore posted the running order for this year’s Community Service Day on Wednesday, Sept. 2. It is an annual morning of volunteer work, and it starts with food.

Breakfast, check-in and t-shirt pickup run from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Ave. At 9 a.m., volunteers head to their project sites. Checking in at the community center first is required, whatever the site.

Breakfast is prepared and served by the Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters Foundation.

The work varies by site: park clean-ups, fence painting, plantings and other beautification projects at parks, schools and other spots around the city. The city runs the day with the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District and the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District, which is how school grounds end up on the list alongside city parks.

The notice does not give this year’s date or a sign-up link, and it does not list an age limit, a crew size or anything volunteers need to bring. The city’s news page is where those details would appear.
