Dublin sets two meetings on 19 homes proposed at Schaefer Ranch

The City of Dublin will hold two community meetings this month on a proposal to build 19 single-family homes in the Schaefer Ranch neighborhood. The first is Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m.; the second is Thursday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. Both cover the same material, so there is no reason to attend both.

The applicant is Discovery Builders, Inc. Eighteen of the homes, the Unit 3 portion, would go on a 6.87-acre site at the western end of Dublin Boulevard. The nineteenth, Unit 1, Lot 70, would sit on the western edge of Ridgeline Place. The proposal uses three floor plans with four architectural styles.

The project is not new. It was approved in 2016 and the site improvements were finished in 2018, but residential construction never started within the approved timeframe, so the Site Development Review permit expired. Discovery Builders is now asking for a new SDR permit, a lot line adjustment and a conditional use permit allowing minor changes to the architectural standards set in the Stage 2 Development Plan adopted as Ordinance No. 06-16, which governs the 18 Unit 3 lots.

City staff will give a short presentation on the project and the development process at each meeting.
