Automotive enthusiasts, collectors, and East Bay families will gather in Antioch on Saturday, October 10, for the annual benefit car show co-hosted by the Disciples Car Club Ministry and Rivertown Community Church. The vibrant community event will transform the church campus into a showcase of gleaming vintage hot rods, custom muscle cars, classic trucks, and motorcycles. The gathering aims to generate essential charitable funds to support regional youth camps and sponsor holiday gift baskets for disadvantaged local families.
The car show provides wholesome family entertainment while raising money for Rivertown Community Church's Adopt-A-Family outreach initiative, which delivers grocery boxes, warm winter coats, and children's holiday presents to low-income East Contra Costa households. In addition, proceeds fund camperships that enable underprivileged youth and men to attend character-building outdoor summer retreats. Local residents will enjoy a full day of open-air automotive nostalgia alongside neighbors, artisans, and community volunteers dedicated to regional civic support.
Automotive passion has deep historical roots across East Contra Costa County, where classic cruising culture and neighborhood mechanic guilds have thrived for generations. Rivertown Community Church and the Disciples Car Club Ministry launched the annual exhibition to channel that rich local hobby into an impactful philanthropic engine. Over successive years, the partnership has grown from an informal gathering of church hobbyists into a widely anticipated regional showcase drawing exhibitors from Brentwood, Oakley, Concord, and Pittsburg.
Show vehicle arrivals and staging begin early Saturday morning at 9:00 AM, with gates opening to the general public at 10:00 AM and the formal awards ceremony concluding with a vehicle roll out at 2:30 PM. Vehicle registration is priced at $30 for early entries and $35 for participants registering on the morning of the show, with all vehicle applications handled directly by Rivertown Community Church. Spectator admission is completely free, and the event features opportunity prize drawings, a lively pie-eating contest with cash prizes, and a dedicated kids fun zone.
Volunteer coordinators are putting finishing touches on vendor spaces and children's activity booths ahead of the weekend event. Rivertown Community Church will present custom trophies across multiple vehicle categories during the 2:00 PM awards ceremony, culminating in the popular Best of Show presentation. Enthusiasts wishing to enter classic vehicles or local businesses interested in donating items for the opportunity drawing can contact church event organizers at (925) 754-0800 or register through the church community portal.
