City of Livermore to Present Proposed Veterans Park Design at Four Community Pop-Up Events
Municipal planners invite Tri-Valley residents to review downtown park concepts near Railroad and South Livermore avenues through November 1.

The City of Livermore Community Development Department will host a series of four interactive neighborhood outreach events between October 18 and November 1 to showcase the proposed conceptual design for the new Veterans Park in downtown Livermore. Planned for a prominent municipal parcel near the intersection of Railroad Avenue and South Livermore Avenue, the civic green space is part of the city council's ongoing downtown revitalization program. Municipal planners and landscape architects will staff informational booths to walk residents through architectural renderings and answer questions regarding park amenities.
The public engagement schedule kicks off on Sunday, October 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during the weekly Livermore Farmers' Market in the downtown core. A second afternoon outreach session will take place on Friday, October 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at neighboring Stockmen's Park along South Livermore Avenue. Families with young children can also review the plans on Wednesday, October 28, from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. inside the Storytime Room at the Livermore Civic Center Library at 1188 South Livermore Avenue, before the series concludes on Sunday, November 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. back at the Livermore Farmers' Market.
City staff invited residents of all ages to stop by the display boards, speak directly with project managers, and pick up complimentary Halloween candy and commemorative park stickers. The proposed Veterans Park layout is designed to honor local military service members from Livermore and the broader Tri-Valley while providing shaded pedestrian pathways, commemorative plaza seating, and drought-tolerant native landscaping that complements adjacent downtown retail businesses.
Coordination between the municipal planning department, the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, and local veterans service committees has guided the conceptual design phase over the past year. Civic officials noted that hosting pop-up tables at existing community gatherings like the Sunday farmers' market and library storytime ensures broader public participation than traditional evening commission hearings alone. Feedback collected during the four autumn sessions will be compiled into a formal staff report for the Livermore City Council.
Residents unable to attend the four in-person outreach dates can view the Veterans Park conceptual drawings and submit electronic comments through the municipal portal at livermoreca.gov or by calling the planning division at (925) 960-4400. Final design refinements and construction bidding timelines are expected to come before the council for review later this winter.
