A Dublin vet hospital takes walk-ins until 10 p.m.
Vets for Pets on Amador Valley Boulevard is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with Sunday hours planned.
Vets for Pets Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care, at 7667 Amador Valley Blvd. in Dublin, keeps its doors open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and takes walk-ins, according to a business profile published Monday by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
That is a long day by the standards of a general practice, and it is the point of the place. The hospital was set up around same-day appointments, walk-in availability and urgent care in the evening, so that a dog that stops eating on a Tuesday night does not wait until the following week or go straight to an emergency hospital.
The practice handles routine work and urgent work in the same building: wellness exams, vaccinations, puppy and kitten programs, sick-pet visits, in-house lab testing, digital X-rays, dental cleanings and oral surgery, soft tissue and some same-day surgery, spay and neuter, senior wellness, parasite prevention and heartworm testing, microchipping and nutrition planning.
Sunday hours are planned. No start date has been announced.
Vets for Pets is locally owned and says it draws clients from Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore and San Ramon. The founding date has not been published.
The clinic's number is 925-255-5885, and appointments can be booked by phone.
